JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Looking to rebound from a tough-fought 83-71 loss to USC Upstate on Thursday night, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team continues Atlantic Sun Conference road play on Saturday afternoon taking on ETSU at 3 p.m. in Johnson City.
The Bucs (6-17, 4-6 A-Sun) are also coming off a tough league loss after dropping a 70-68 decision to Northern Kentucky on Thursday night. Since falling to the Bisons (8-13, 3-7 A-Sun) 60-56 at Allen Arena on Jan 5, ETSU has picked up four of their six wins.
Senior guard Deonte Alexander and sophomore forward Malcolm Smith continue to lead Lipscomb in scoring with each 12.4 points each night. In league action, Alexander is averaging 14.7 points per game, while Malcolm Smith is adding 13.4 points each contest.
The duo are joined in double figures by redshirt freshman center Stephen Hurt, who is scoring 11.4 points per contest and sophomore forward Martin Smith, who averages 10.0 points per game. Lipscomb is the only team in the A-Sun with four scorers averaging double digits.
ETSU redshirt freshman forward Lester Wilson, who led the Bucs with 16 points in the previous meeting of the two teams, leads the team with a 15.5 points-per-game average.
