On Saturday, March 2, Lipscomb University Athletics will host its second annual Adoption Rally promotion in conjunction with its basketball games against the University of North Florida at Allen Arena. Nine families in the process of adopting children will receive 100% of the single-game ticket revenue for the basketball doubleheader. The women’s game starts at 6 p.m. The men’s game will follow at 8:15 p.m. Fans purchasing tickets will have the opportunity to designate which family they want to support.
“Last year we were able to give back over $30,000 to 13 families in the process of adoption,” said Brent High, Lipscomb University’s associate athletic director for spiritual formation. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to help another group of families bring children home. Our hope and plan is that Adoption Rally is an annual tradition at Lipscomb for years to come.”
All nine of the adopting families that will benefit from Lipscomb’s Adoption Rally are from middle Tennessee. They include:
Terry and Carissa Barga – adopting two foster children from the United States
Adam and Sara Bryson – adopting for the third time from the United States
Jeremy and Kelli Johnson – adopting a daughter from China
Adam and Amy Kaufhold – adopting from Ethiopia
Kevin and Muriel Lewis – adopting two 3-year-old twin boys from the Democratic Republic of Congo
Trevor and Janie Lubiens – adopting a newborn baby boy from the United States
Jonathan and Shawna Sheahen – adopting daughter from Madagascar
Brian and Melissa Snow – adopting three sisters from Ethiopia
David and Melissa Willmarth – adopting from the United States
