NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Off to a 3-1 start, the Lipscomb baseball team continues home action this weekend hosting the 2013 “Mule Mix Classic” as Bradley, Ball State and Northwestern come to the “Music City”.
The fierce winter storm in the Midwest has forced a number of late changes in the event
The weekend kicks off at 2 p.m. on Friday as Ball State (1-2) and Bradley (0-3) get the round-robin tournament underway. The Bisons then hit Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh stadium against Bradley at 5:30 p.m.
That contest will feature a matchup of Lipscomb senior righthander Josh Cotham against Bradley junior righty John Nasshan.
Saturday will see the Bisons hit the field twice with a game against each team. Lipscomb opens the day against Ball State with LU senior righty Davey Hackett taking on southpaw Nestor Bautista at Noon instead of 11 a.m. as previously. Lipscomb junior Hunter Brothers will move into a starting role for the nightcap at 4 p.m. on Saturday against Bradley.
Ball State and Bradley will faceoff against one another again to start things on Sunday at 11 a.m. before Lipscomb wraps up the weekend against Northwestern. Sophomore righty Will Blalock will take the hill on Sunday for Lipscomb.
Lipscomb holds a 7-1 advantage all-time in the series against Bradley, while Ball State holds a 2-0 advantage all-time in the series with the Bisons. Sunday’s meeting with Northwestern will be the first in school history.
