NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The sixth-seeded Lipscomb men’s tennis team is set to take on the Stetson Hatters today in the Atlantic Sun Tournament quarterfinals.
Originally planned to be held at the ETSU complex in Johnson City, Tenn., the match against No. 3-seeded Stetson has been relocated to the Bristol Country Club in Bristol, Tenn., due to weather concerns.
Lipscomb coach Andrew Harris expressed the importance of the team making the tournament, hoping the team both prepares for the match and benefits from the experience.
“This is what you work for all year is having an opportunity to go to the NCAA tournament,” Harris said. “We need to enjoy the moment and believe in our ability to get the job done.”
The Bisons lost to Stetson 4-3 in a close away match in March. Harris says that the familiarity with the team will prevent any uncertainty on the court.
“We are familiar with Stetson and they are familiar with us so there shouldn't be many surprises,” Harris said. “The guys are looking forward to playing and competing at a high level. “
The match is set for 11:30 a.m.
