NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off its most complete game of the year in a 3-0 win Friday night, the Lipscomb women’s soccer team returns to the pitch Monday at 7 p.m. hosting Austin Peay State University.

The Lady Bisons, 2-2-1 received two goals from freshman forward Ellen Lundy as the Lady Bisons controlled the 3-0 victory over Alabama State Friday. Lundy leads the Atlantic Sun with five goals and 11 points through five games.

“We wanted the right energy, the right concentration, the right focus and they came out and did that tonight,” Lipscomb head coach Kevin O’Brien said after the victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Anna Buhigas was charged with her third shutout in just five collegiate games. Buhigus leads the A-Sun with a .862 save percentage, having stopped 25 shots. Her 0.77 goals against average is also tops in the conference.

The Lady Govs enter Monday’s match unbeaten on the season with a 3-0-1 record. Last playing Thursday, APSU tied Western Kentucky 1-1. Tatiana Ariza leads the Lady Govs attack with six goals and 13 points.

Goalkeeper Nikki Filippone has given up just one goal for a .31 goals against average. She has two shutouts to her credit.

Lipscomb is 3-7-1 all-time against Austin Peay, having picked up the 1-0 victory a year ago in Clarksville.
