NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb softball team is staying close to home this fall with all of the games scheduled for Nashville venues.
The Lady Bisons will open the fall schedule Sept. 28 with a doubleheader at Draper Diamond against Tennessee State at 1 p.m.
On Sept. 29 the Lady Bisons will host an alumni game. No current players will participate. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
The Lady Bisons have scheduled three games in October. They travel up the boulevard to face Belmont at 1 p.m. in a doubleheader Oct. 5. They return home to face Trevecca Nazarene in a doubleheader on Oct. 9 at 4:30 p.m. and then close out the fall with a home doubleheader against Middle Tennessee at 1 p.m. on Oct. 12.
“We like to stay close to home for fall games,” Lady Bisons coach Kristin Ryman said. “Usually we do two road dates and two home dates, but it just worked out this year that we have three home dates. It will be a good test to get a feel for where we are.”
The Lady Bisons have been working two hours a week in individual workouts. Ryman is looking forward to seeing where the players are in game situations.
“We want to see how the pitchers perform in certain situations,” Ryman said. “This team is very versatile. We want to see players in different positions and see how they perform. We also want to see what kind of batting order we might have.”
