NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb Lady Bisons continue to lead the nation in both assists per set and kills per set.
The Lady Bisons are first in assists per set with 14.39. They lead in kills per set with 15.52.
This week’s RPI has the Lady Bison rated 92nd in the nation. ETSU is close behind in 97th.
“The current RPI ranking is something that we have worked for many years to maintain,” Lipscomb coach Brandon Rosenthal said. “I think that it is vital for our program to stay within the top 100.
“As we move forward we will continue to push to make that top 100 ranking a top 50 ranking. While it is only a simple computer ranking I believe the consistency of our ranking continues to show the endless possibilities of this program.”
Each season Rosenthal makes sure his team competes against the best competition available during the preconference portion of the schedule.
“It is important that not only do we stay in the top 100 but we continue to seek out opponents that also reside within that same bracket of teams,” Rosenthal said.”
Individually, Caitlin “Dot” Dotson continues to be rated first in the nation in assists per set with 12.67.
Middle blocker Jewell Dobson is sixth in two categories with 4.75 kills per set and 5.37 points per set.
The Lady Bisons close out the first half of the A-Sun season this weekend when they travel to Florida to face Florida Gulf Coast Friday at 6 and Stetson Sunday at 1.
Outside hitter Lauren Ford is 39th in kills per set with 4.03. Dobson is 38th with a .385 hitting percentage.
