WASHINGTON, D.C. – With the short Thanksgiving break behind them, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team is set for a Saturday television matchup with Big East foe Georgetown at the Verizon Center in the nation’s capital.
The 11 a.m. contest will air in the Nashville market and around the southeast on Fox Sports South along with the rest of the Fox Sports regional networks around the country with the broadcast team of Jason Benetti and Gary Williams handling the announcing duties. The game will also be broadcast on 94.9 Game 2 with Jonathan Seamon and Jay Walton bringing the action to life on the radio.
“This game should be a lot of fun for our players,” said Lipscomb head coach Casey Alexander. “I hope they are excited. I hope the break and a few days to collect ourselves and be ready to go will be helpful.
“Tomorrow should be a fun game. We play in an NBA arena, in the nation’s capital against a perennial top-10, top-15 team. I’m not sure what else you could ask for.”
The Bisons (3-3) are coming into the contest of a 95-84 road win over UT-Martin, while the Hoyas return home with wins over Kansas State and VCU last week in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
“Georgetown has great guard play and unbelievable size and ability inside,” said Alexander. “Tomorrow will be a tough task for us defensively. The key for us is to eliminate easy baskets. They’re going to score. They’re good and talented but we can’t give up back-cut layups or transition layups.”
