Monday, March 10, 2014

MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Kelsey Cartwright earned Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honors after leading the Lady Bisons to a 4-1 record this past week.

Cartwright batted .500 for the week getting nine hits total over five games. Her home run in the seventh inning of Saturday's conference game vs. FGCU set the stage for Lipscomb's walk-off win. Sunday she followed that up going 3-3 at the plate including a home run and double. On the week she had a 1.000 slugging percentage, two home runs and six RBI.

It is the first A-Sun Player of the Week Award for the senior from Joelton, Tenn.

The Lady Bisons are back in action Tuesday when they travel to Tennessee Tech in Cookeville for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
