Redshirt freshman Allan Hooker made the most of his first career start by slamming a home run and a double to help lift Lipscomb over LaSalle 8-2 Friday at Dugan Field. Hooker's home run in the fourth was his first career hit.

After dropping its last two games, the Lipscomb baseball team will look to get back on track this weekend when the La Salle Explorers makes the trek to Music City for a three-game series at Ken Dugan Field. Friday’s first pitch has been moved up a couple of hours to 2 p.m.

The Lipscomb baseball team gave up three runs in the final two innings to drop a 5-2 midweek tilt to in-state foe Austin Peay Wednesday night at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium. Massey extended his team-best 14-game hitting streak and has now reached base in 20 straight games.

The Lipscomb baseball team has canceled its weekend action at Ken Dugan Field due to inclement weather conditions in the Nashville area. The games will not be made up. Also last week's postponement with Middle Tennessee will now be played on March 25th at 6 p.m. in Murfreesboro.

Martinez-McGraw was nearly unhittable on Friday afternoon as he limited the Bulldogs to only two hits in six innings of work. He allowed just one unearned run and struck out two batters. This is the first career weekly honor for the senior.

The Lipscomb baseball team finished off a season-opening sweep over Butler Saturday after getting 9-8, 8-3 wins in a Valentine’s Day twinbill at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium. Lipscomb (3-0) pounded out 25 hits on Saturday and scored 17 runs.

With weather forecast in the Nashville area calling for temperatures in the high 20s, Sunday's baseball game with Butler has been moved up to play a Valentine's Day doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon with the second game starting approximately 30 minutes after the completion of Game 1.

The Lipscomb baseball team picked up three individual accolades when the Atlantic Sun Conference released its annual Preseason All-Conference honors Wednesday. Grant Massey, Ian Martinez-McGraw and Jason Ziegler each earned a spot on the illustrious list after all three put up banner years in 2014.

Former Lipscomb baseball star Rex Brothers avoided arbitration with the Colorado Rockies Friday signing a 1-year deal worth a reported $1.4 million. The lefty is 15-11 with 20 saves and a 3.49 ERA in four years with the Rockies.

The Lipscomb baseball team started its annual Omaha Challenge challenge last week with the players competing against one another for the right to be crowned champion. The event consists of 20 individual events and eight team events. There will be two individual winners – one pitcher and one position player.
