SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The Lipscomb Softball team lost 7-2 to Missouri State Sunday afternoon in the Blues City Classic.

The Lady Bisons close out the tournament at Greenbrook Park at 12:30 p.m.

The loss dropped the Lady Bisons to 11-2.  Missouri State is 10-3.

Missouri State set the tone of the game with two runs in the first. They added one in the second and four in the fourth.

Both teams recorded eight hits.

In the fifth, sixth and seventh innings the Lady Bisons opened with two runners on base and no outs. They capitalized in the seventh with two runs.

Gracey Aguirre and Brianne Welch each had two hits for Lipscomb.

Tanner Sanders, 5-1, lost her first game of the season. She gave up four earned runs, struck out five and walked two.
