"I was really proud of the way we battled throughout the entire game. So many times last year we were so close, but couldn't get over the hump. It was nice to be able to keep coming back and get the win. We felt good with the way we hit the ball. We had a lot of chances to score, but we just couldn't get the timely hit that could have opened it up. When you get the pitching with did with Sara's outting and get ten hits you feel pretty good, but the 11 runners left on is something we'll need to improve on. When you put a new team on the field you always have some growing pains and I think we'll get better with our communication as we learn to play together. I really feel like we have a chance to have a special season if we keep working hard and playing together,"said Head Coach Andy Lane.
The Lady Bisons are now 1-0 and the Lady Govs are now 0-1 on the season. The Lady Bisons will be in Oklahoma this weekend for the OU/Nike Classic Tournament. Lipscomb will take on Oklahoma on Friday at 1:00 p.m. followed by two games on Saturday vs North Texas and two singles on Sunday against Creighton and Oklahoma. Oklahoma University is once again one of the nations top teams and a former National Champion. "This will be a nice trip for our team. It is always good to go on the road as we build our team. A trip like this will help you down the road as we enter into conference play,"said Lane.
