Lipscomb’s softball team will use the month of October as a month of training, getting reps in through a number of games on the fall schedule, released Monday by head coach Kristin Ryman.
The fall season kicks off on the first day of October, when the Lady Bisons host their annual Alumni Game at Draper Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. and will be a chance for fans to see Lipscomb stars past and present.
The following day, Lipscomb will head down I-24 for a doubleheader at Middle Tennessee. The Blue Raiders were 18-33 last season and lost their leading hitter, Corrie Abel, and her .387 average to graduation.
On Oct. 8 Lipscomb will travel to Chattanooga for the UTC Tournament. At 11 a.m., Lipscomb will face Calhoun Community College, and will follow that up with a 1:15 p.m. game against Georgia, which ended last season ranked sixth in the nation.
The following Saturday, Oct. 15, Lipscomb will be back home with a doubleheader against Trevecca scheduled to begin at noon.
On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Lady Bisons will wrap up the fall schedule with a night-time doubleheader against Tennessee State, beginning at 6 p.m. at Draper Diamond.
