NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Kristen Sturdivant led off the seventh inning with a solo home run to left field for a 2-1 win over Virginia Tech Sunday afternoon at Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium.

The Lady Bisons are 3-0 to start the season in the Music City Classic. They are back in action at 2:30 against Butler.

The only other hit for the Lady Bisons was a double to left field by Brianna Welch. She advanced to third on bunt and scored on a wild pitch.

Tanner Sanders went the distance for the Lady Bisons on the mound for her second win.

Sanders allowed only two hits, both to Vanessa Gonzalez. One of those hits was a solo home run.

She struck out five and walked four.
