NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Riding a five-game winning streak, the Lipscomb volleyball team makes the trek north tonight to take on Evansville at Meeks Family Court at the Carson Center in Evansville, Ind.

“Evansville is a team that we’ve played quite a bit over the last five or six years, said Lipscomb head coach Brandon Rosenthal.  “They’re a team I really respect.  I think what we’ll see tonight coming off a great road weekend is another chance for us to keep moving forward and really take some of the lessons we learned this weekend and put them into play.”

“We’re kind of getting into a groove right now where I think playing is the best thing for us.  Especially with such a young team getting that opportunity to kind of take the lessons that we learned from previous matches and being able to put something into play in practice. And then be able to take what we did in practice and put in play in a match.”

The opponent:
Evansville comes into the match 11-7 overall and 1-3 in Missouri Valley Conference play.  The Purple Aces are led offensively by Brooke Maher, who ranks fifth in the MVC averaging 3.22 kills per set.  Evansville features a solid setter as well with Ellen Sawin averaging 10.89 assists per set.

“I think it’s going to be important for us transition wise to be crisp and precise and be disciplined on defense,” said Rosenthal. “I’m looking forward to a great match.”

The Lady Bisons (7-6, 2-0 Atlantic Sun) return home this weekend hosting USC-Upstate on Friday at 6 p.m. and ETSU on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Allen Arena.
