NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Hitting a blistering .398 on “Dig Pink” night to raise awareness for breast cancer, the Lipscomb volleyball team cruised past Atlantic Sun foe Stetson 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-15) on Friday night at Allen Arena in Nashville.

Freshman Lauren Ford led the way for the Lady Bisons (15-6, 8-0) with a match high 14 kills and notched four of Lipscomb’s eight service aces on the night.  Senior Abby Fay and sophomore Caitlin Dotson both posted double-doubles in the contest as both finished with double figures in digs and assists.

“Tonight was one of those matches where our girls took the momentum from Tuesday night and came out with a purpose,” noted Lipscomb head coach Brandon Rosenthal.  “I think the girls did a nice job of understanding what this time of year is all about.

“It was good to see the distribution around the court.  The one thing that stood out to me was the defense right out of the gate and the ability to defend balls and score off those balls. “

The Lipscomb defense dominated the Hatters (6-14, 1-7 A-Sun) in the contest holding Stetson to a .035 hitting percentage.  The Lady Bisons also finished with a huge advantage in digs finishing with a 45-27 lead.

“When you look at the numbers and see that we out dug them by quite a bit and hit almost .400 as a team and held them to under .050, it’s a good night,” said Rosenthal.

The Lady Bisons continue home action on Saturday afternoon hosting FGCU at 2 p.m. in another key A-Sun match.
