NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Off to an 0-3 start to the year, the Lipscomb women’s basketball team heads to Alabama A&M on Saturday night looking for its first win of the season in the contest that tipsoff at 5 p.m.

After falling at home to Air Force and Austin Peay, the Lady Bisons dropped an 80-54 decision at Tennessee State on Thursday night as the Lipscomb offense went silent in the second half.

Through three games, senior guard Anna Bowers leads Lipscomb in scoring averaging 10.7 points-per-contest ahead of junior wing Hannah Philips, who is scoring eight-points per game.  Phillips also leads the squad in rebounding hauling in eight boards a night.  Turnovers have been critical for the

The opponent:  Alabama A&M heads into Saturday night’s game at Elmore Gymnasium 0-2 after a pair of road contests at SEC schools.  The Lady Bulldogs opened the campaign with a 88-56 loss to Vanderbilt in the “Music City” before dropping a 60-53 contest at South Carolina.

Senior guard Whiquitta Tobar paces A&M tossing in 22.5 points per contest and is shooting .441 from the field.  Tobar scored 25 against Vandy before posting a 20-point effort against the Gamecocks.  Saturday night marks the home opener for Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Ala.

On the horizon:  The Lady Bulldogs continue their five-game road swing on Monday continuing play in the state of Alabama at Jacksonville State.
