NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb women’s basketball team is set to wrap up the 2011-12 slate on Saturday afternoon taking on Atlantic Sun Conference foe Kennesaw State at the KSU Convocation Center in Kennesaw, Ga.

The banged-up Lipscomb squad heads into the A-Sun tilt with a shortened bench after junior guard Hannah Phillips suffered a knee injury in Thursday night’s loss at Mercer. The second leading scorer on the Lady Bison squad averaging 11.1 points per game, Phillips has played in all 88 games in her three-year career for Lipscomb.

The Lady Bison will rely heavily on senior guard Anna Bowers, who is fresh off a 23-point performance against Mercer. Bowers is averaging 12.8 points per night overall and 13.8 against A-Sun opponents.

The contest marks the final outing for Bowers, post Brittany Duerk and wing Leah McAlister as they suit up for Lipscomb for the final time.

The opponent:  Kennesaw State enters Saturday’s contest having lost two-straight contests after rattling off four-straight home wins.

Freshman guard Taylor Mills leads the way for the Lady Owls averaging 12.5 points per game and 4.3 assists per game.  Junior forward Sametria Gordon adds 10.9 points per game along with 8.2 rebounds per outing.

The Lady Owls handed the Lady Bison a 74-55 loss earlier this season at Allen Arena behind a 28-point by Mills.
