NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Taking a side-step out of Atlantic Sun Conference action, the Lipscomb women’s basketball team travels up the boulevard to battle Belmont on Monday.
Tipoff for the “Battle of the Boulevard” is set for 6 p.m. in the Curb Event Center on Belmont’s campus.
The Lady Bisons, 2-20 overall and 1-11 in A-Sun play, lost 75-58 on Saturday to Northern Kentucky. Senior guard Hannah Phillips scored a team-high 22 points in the loss, but was able to secure her 1,000th career-point in the process.
Over her last five games, Phillips has had one of the hottest hands in the A-Sun averaging 20.4 points per game and has boosted her season average from 11.6 points to 13.7 points per game in that same span.
Belmont enters 14-10 overall and 9-3 in Ohio Valley Conference action, where they lead the conference by a half game over Tennessee Tech.
For the season, the Bruins place two in double figures in Jordan Coleman and Katie Brooks, who both average 10 points per game. In conference action though, it has been Brooks who leads the team with 12.1 points per game. Coleman averages a double-double as she snags 10.1 rebounds per game.
The two squads met on Dec. 1 in Allen Arena with the Bruins coming away with the 70-54 victory.
