The Bisons finished 24th in a field of 38 teams and the Lady Bisons were 21st in a field of 35 Saturday at the eighth annual Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic.

The Lipscomb Bisons and Lady Bisons had a less than enjoyable experience Saturday at the Roy Griak Invite hosted by the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Just a week after winning the Vanderbilt Invite, the men finished 18th out of 18. The women fared slightly better, finishing 16th of 17.

The Lipscomb Bisons, led by Ryan Chastain, won first place Saturday morning in the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic at the Vaughn's Gap course at Percy Warner Park. The Bisons battled a wet course and drizzling rain to win their first ever first place in a cross country event under coach Bill Taylor. There were 16 teams in the race. The Lady Bisons placed fifth in a field of 17 teams.

It isn't often that the Lipscomb cross country teams get the opportunity to compete in Nashville. Saturday morning the Lady Bisons will compete at 9. The Bisons will run at 10. The races will be held at the Vaughn's Gap Course at Percy Warner Park. A pancake breakfast sponsored by the Student Government Association and Student Involvement will begin at 8.

Coach Bill Taylor has a large number of young runners, especially on the men's team this season. He expects the Belmont Opener Friday at Percy Warner Park to be a learning experience for both the Bisons and Lady Bisons.
