What sports did you play at Lipscomb? What years? Who were your coaches?

Cheerleader- 77-78 Basketball Season

What is your fondest athletic memory at Lipscomb?


“I actually did radio, I worked for Coach Ken Dugan, so my favorite sports memory came actually from baseball. We went to the national tournament in St. Joseph, Mo. To be a part of a national tournament, the national championships, was a very special time in those days at Lipscomb.”

Who had the biggest influence on you during your athletic career at Lipscomb? Why?

Coach Ken Dugan and Dean Dennis Lloyd, “And you can put a quote ‘Dean Lloyd would rather not talk about it.’”

What is your fondest non-athletic memory from your time at Lipscomb?

“Being involved with the social club Kappa Phi. Let’s just leave it at the club in general.”

What is the most valuable thing you gained or learned from your time at Lipscomb?

“Basically you develop who you are, and I think I was able with all the influences on campus to basically shape me into the person I am today.”

Who was your favorite professor? Why?

Patrick Deese and Craig Bledsoe.

 “Just the amount of passion they had for the courses they taught.”

Where do you live now?


Brentwood, Tenn.

Who is your employer? What is your occupation? What does your position entail?

“I am a real estate broker.”

Tell us about your family.

“My wife, Patricia, has taught 19 years at David Lipscomb Campus School and my three sons, David, Chris and Dale, either graduated from Lipscomb University or are waiting to graduate.”
