The Lipscomb Lady Bisons soccer team spotted Arkansas-Pine Bluff a 2-0 lead on the road and then came back to tie the game for a 2-2 tie.
“Pine Bluff was a lot better team than they were the last time we played them,” said Lipscomb coach Jon Ireland.
“Pine Bluff jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of the game. The Lady Bisons bounced back in the final 15 minutes of the first half with two goals of their own as Kate Spellman and Halie Proffitt both scored.
“ “I was really proud of the way we met the challenge of fighting back after giving up two goals on the road,” Ireland said. “That is something we can build on.”
“Both teams were held scoreless in the second half and in both overtime periods.
“ “I don’t think Pine Bluff had a shot on goal in the second half,” said Ireland. “In the overtime both Katie and Halie had one-on-one shots but weren’t able to convert them.”
The Lady Bisons are on the road Sunday at Jackson State in Jackson, Miss.
