Lipscomb's Lady Bisons won their second game in a row, beating Tennessee-Chattanooga 1-0 Friday night on a wet and foggy field in Chattanooga.
The win follows a 1-0 overtime win at home over Jackson State. The back-to-back victories for the Lady Bisons are the first for the program since 2002 when they beat Austin Peay 1-0 on Oct. 29 and Mercer 1-0 in overtime on Oct. 31.
The Lady Bisons will be out to set a program record Sunday afternoon when they travel to Presbyterian College in search of their third straight win at 1 in Clinton, S.C.
Freshman forward Halie Proffitt scored the game-winning goal off of a corner kick at the 63:17 mark of the second half.
Senior goalkeeper Katie Shelton earned the shutout, stopping five shots on goal, four of them in the first half. It is her second straight shutout this season.
The Lady Bisons made seven shots. Tennessee-Chattanooga finished with 13 shots.
Sophomore midfielder Brandi Besheres led the Lady Bisons in both shots (three) and shots on goal (two).
The Lady Bisons are 2-4 under first-year coach Jon Ireland. Tennessee-Chattanooga fell to 2-4.
