Returning in the net for Lipscomb will be keeper Erin Zerio, while freshman Allison Brown will be counted on to push her for playing time in practice and games.
Although Zerio is a two-year starter in net, head coach Jon Ireland will give the incoming Brown a chance to earn some playing time.
Incumbent Erin Zerio will be the likely netminder in 2011 after starting every match in 2010. She ranks second all-time in minutes played by a keeper (2,504) and will pass Bethany Copeland for fourth all-time in saves if she makes 15 stops in 2011.
In 2010, she posted third-highest numbers by a Lady Bison keeper since Lipscomb moved to the Division I level in shutouts (three) and goals against average (1.82).
Also in net for Lipscomb will be incoming freshman Allison Brown, who was an all-region keeper for West Jessamine High School as a senior in 2010.
The Nicholasville, Ky., native backstopped West Jessamine to back-to-back regional championships in 2009-10.
The Lady Bisons kick off the regular season Friday, at 5 p.m., against Arkansas State. The match will be played at the Lipscomb training facility behind Cofer’s Chapel Church on the corner of Caldwell Lane and Franklin Pike.
