The Lady Bisons lost their sixth straight match Friday, when they fell to Atlantic Sun Conference foe North Florida 5-0 at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.
The Osprey’s claimed the doubles point with a clean sweep at all three spots.
At No. 1 doubles, senior Kara Jackson and freshman Alyssa Bellini were defeated by Berkenbrock and Weymar 8-4, while juniors Danielle Hansen and Elizabeth Keevil fell to Aguirre and Day 8-3 at No. 2.
Sophomore Carlina Jow and senior Julianne McMeen lost at No. 3 to Krook and Doak 8-3 to close out the doubles play.
The Lady Bisons headed into singles play with a 1-0 deficit and continued on to lose four of their six singles matches.
Keevil was defeated at No. 2 by Day 6-0, 6-0, while Hansen posted the Lady Bisons’ strongest results in singles play with a 6-2, 6-3 loss to Aguirre at No. 4.
Jow was swept at No. 5 by Weyamar 6-0, 6-0, and McMeen lost at No. 6 6-0, 6-2 to Doak.
No. 1 and No. 3 singles remained on court as North Florida clinched the match, but Lipscomb head coach Andrew Harris called the match due to weather.
Jackson only needed two games to post a win at No. 1 singles, as she lead Berkenbrock 6-3, 4-5. At No. 3, Bellini held a one set lead over Krook when the match was called, winning by a score of 7-6, 0-1.
The Lady Bisons will return to action Saturday, March 26 when they face Jacksonville University in another A-Sun conference match up. The match will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Whitworth Country Club.
