Kal Koenig attended David Lipscomb College from 1978-1981, where he was an outstanding pitcher for the Bison baseball program. During his career he helped lead the Bisons to the NAIA National Tournament in each of his four seasons. In 1979, Kal and the Bisons won the NAIA World Series here in Nashville, with Kal being voted the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. During his career he Bison baseball program was one of the most dominant programs in the country, averaging an amazing 45 wins a season, including two 50 win seasons in 1978 and in 1981. In 1981, Kal was voted All-Conference, All-District, All-Area and 1st Team NAIA All-American. Since leaving Lipscomb Kal has been just as successful in his family life, and serving his fellow man as a firefighter in New Orleans, Louisiana. Kal Koenig, a player who was one of the all-tine great relief pitchers for Lipscomb who now imitates his baseball career with his professional career.
