Katherine Neely Murrie played golf for Lipscomb from 2000-03, leading the newly formed Women’s golf program to national significance.  Upon arrival on the Lipscomb campus, Katherine made an immediate impact and established herself as an elite collegiate female golfer. During her outstanding Lipscomb career Katherine won the Cumberland College Invitational in Kentucky, the Blue Grass Classic in Kentucky, and the Gamecock Classic in Alabama. The highlight of her collegiate career was also one of Lipscomb’s most historical athletic moments: she captured the 2001 NAIA National Championship at the London Country Club in Kentucky. Katherine was an outstanding Business Management major at Lipscomb, graduating magna cum laude. Since graduation she has excelled in the banking industry, currently serving as vice president in the Treasury Management at Regions Bank, where she supports corporate and government sectors throughout Tennessee. Katherine holds a Certified Treasury Professional designation, has been honored as one of Nashville’s Emerging Leaders, and serves on a number of non-profit boards. Katherine Neely Murrie will be long remembered for her role in placing Lipscomb Women’s Golf on the national map.
