NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the third time in her career Lipscomb setter Kayla Ostrom has been named to CoSIDA Academic All-District® All-Academic First Team.

Ostrom represents District 3. The honor was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

As a first team member Ostrom is eligible for the national team. She was on the CoSIDA All-America All-Academic Third Team in 2015. Ostrom was also the ASUN Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for volleyball in 2015.

“This is a great honor for Kayla and for Lipscomb Volleyball,” Lipscomb coach Brandon Rosenthal said. “There is not a day that goes by where Kayla doesn’t put in anything less than her best. It’s awesome to see such an amazing individual be recognized for their relentless pursuit.”

Ostrom is a senior from West Lafayette, Indiana. She has finished her undergraduate work at Lipscomb with a 4.0 in Food Systems Management. She is in her first semester in Lipscomb’s MBA program.

“I am so happy for Kayla and all that she continues to accomplish,” Rosenthal said. “As a coach it is very rewarding to see people like Kayla honored because she has bought into the program since day one. Her work ethic is off the charts and is a great reminder of what can be accomplished with great effort.”
