McKay notches first ASUN Player of the Week of season

LakePoint, Ga. – For the first time this season and the second time in her career, Lipscomb redshirt-junior Maycie McKay has been named the ASUN Player of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Monday.
McKay scored in both of Lipscomb’s wins over the week, including the extra time game-winner against Kennesaw State on Sunday that earned the program’s first-ever outright ASUN regular season title.
On Thursday, she also scored in a 2-0 win over North Alabama.
The Brentwood native finishes the regular season with six goals, seven assists, and 19 points, all the second-highest numbers on the team.
This is her first ASUN weekly honor since September 2015 when she notched a goal and an assist over two games for Lipscomb.
McKay and the Lady Bisons will begin postseason play on Sunday as they take on the winner of No. 4 FGCU and No. 5 Liberty in the ASUN Semifinals.
