NASHVILLE – Lipscomb volleyball’s incoming class earned High Honorable Mention recognition from PrepVolleyball.com this week in its fifth-annual collegiate recruiting class rankings.
The mention places Lipscomb’s 2019 class among the top 107 in the nation. In a panel of over 100 college coaches, the Bisons were ranked among 52 programs in the high honorable mention class. Only ahead of the purple and gold are the top 30 classes overall and a group of 25 that received highest honorable mention.
The Bisons class is comprised of three freshmen: Lauren Myrick (OH), Brooklyn Phillips (S), and Bree Thompson (OH). The trio hails from the states of Kentucky, Indiana and Iowa.
“This group of three will be a lot of fun to coach,” head coach Brandon Rosenthal said. “I can’t wait to see the desire and effort they bring and what it will do as far as adding to our culture. I have enjoyed getting to know them as individuals and their families through the recruiting process over the past couple of years.
“They are an accomplished group of players that I believe will compete and challenge for playing time right away. The trio will enhance the depth of talent that we already return for the 2019 roster.”
Lipscomb’s class was one of only four ASUN Conference teams recognized by PrepVolleyball. FGCU – the defending ASUN regular season and tournament champion – was in the highest honorable mention class, while Kennesaw State and Liberty each joined Lipscomb as high honorable mention.
Other programs rated in the same class as the Bisons were Ole Miss, South Carolina, Michigan State, Virginia, Arizona, Yale and Indiana to name a few.
