Women’s Tennis Concludes Season Against Jacksonville State

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb's women's tennis team celebrated their final match of the 2021-22 regular season with their senior day festivities as they hosted Jacksonville State. The Bisons fell 1-6 against the Gamecocks despite some aggressive play from the Bisons squad.
 
The Bisons took the first point of the match when they secured the doubles point after a rocky start. Senior Eleanor Chapman and Liza Diachenko were on the first doubles court to finish where they fell 3-6 to their opponents to their opponents on court three.
 
Lipscomb's squad rallied quickly with a win from the No. 1 position where senior Kate Popova and sophomore Sasha Dobranos went 6-4 over their Gamecock foes. Senior Maddox Bandy and junior Anja Trbeznik clinched the doubles point with their 6-3 win on court two. ­
 
The Gamecocks dominated the match from there on out as they picked up six straight singles wins to decide the match.
 
Kate Popova and Sasha Dobranos occupied the No. 1 and 2 spots respectively for the Bisons where they went 4-6, 6-7 (3-7) and 6-2, 5-7, 4-6 against their opponents.
 
Courts three and four were occupied by Emma Zakordoniec and Liza Diachenko who went 3-6, 3-6 and 2-6, 2-6 against their own Jacksonville State foes.
 
The final two courts saw two of the program's seniors fight side by side for the squad. Maddox Bandy fought at the No. 5 position for the Bisons (4-6, 3-6) while Eleanor Chapman competed on court six for the squad (2-6, 1-6).
