Softball Unveils 2023 Schedule

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb softball head coach Kristin Ryman is excited to announce the upcoming 2023 schedule.

"We are very excited to release our 2023 schedule," said Ryman. "Playing in multiple earlier season tournaments as well as hosting both the Purple/Gold Challenge and the Lady Bison Classic will be challenging for us, but we are excited for the challenge that this season offers."

The Bisons will play a total of 53 games this coming season, with 25 of those taking place on Draper Diamond.

Lipscomb will open the season with a road trip to Tallahassee to take part in the Florida State Tournament, with matchups against "Power-Five" opponents Florida State (Feb. 9 and Feb. 10) and Purdue (Feb. 10 and Feb. 11). The Bisons close out the tournament with a contest against Longwood (Feb. 11).

Coach Ryman's team will then travel to Fort Myers from Feb. 17-19 to compete in the FGCU Invitational against FAU (Feb. 17 and Feb. 18), Boston College (Feb. 17), ASUN rival FGCU (Feb. 18), and Middle Tennessee (Feb. 19). Lipscomb will also visit Athens, Georgia from Feb. 24-26 for the Georgia Tournament and will play Hofstra (Feb. 24 and Feb. 25), Cal Baptist (Feb. 25), and Georgia (Feb. 26).

The Bisons will return to the Draper Diamond as host their annual Purple/Gold Challenge on March 3-5, playing host to Providence (March 3 and March 4), Youngstown State (March 4), and St. Louis (March 5), and the Lady Bison Classic on March 10-12, competing against Akron (March 10 and March 11), Indiana (March 10 and March 11), and Evansville (March 12).

Lipscomb will host both Green Bay and Eastern Illinois on March 15, before opening ASUN conference play with a weekend series against Bellarmine (March 18-19).

Other home conference series for the Bisons include Stetson (April 1-2), Austin Peay (April 15-16), and Eastern Kentucky (April 29-30), while also hosting non-conference contests against Tennessee Tech (April 4) and Western Kentucky (April 12).

Lipscomb will play four ASUN road series including Jacksonville (March 25-26), conference newcomer Queens (April 7-8), Kennesaw State (April 22-23), and Central Arkansas (May 4-5).

The Bisons will play crosstown rival Belmont at Rose Park (April 19).
