Women’s Tennis Swept by #75 FGCU

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women's tennis took on the #75 FGCU Eagles in an ASUN matchup on what turned out to be a sunny Nashville Thursday. The Bisons came out strong and fought on all fronts, but the Eagles claimed a 7-0 sweep over the Bisons.
 
The Bisons set a fast pace in doubles but FGCU's squad earned a 6-2 win on court three over Liza Diachenko and Perri Howard followed by a tight 7-5 victory over Sasha Dobranos and Anja Trbeznik on court one to seal the doubles point for the Eagles.
 
Lipscomb's squad couldn't find their stride in singles play, falling in two sets on every court except for court three. Sasha Dobranos put up a strong fight against her opponent at the top spot, pushing her to earn her 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) win.
 
Anja Trbeznik was the only Bison to force a three-set match against the Eagles. After falling 6-3 in the first set, she rebounded in the second set with a 6-3 win of her own before falling in a close 7-6 (7-5) third set.
