THE SHORT STORY
After Lipscomb opened the game with two runs in the top of the second inning, Belmont outscored the Bisons 10-0 in the final 4.5 innings to clinch the non-conference win in the single game on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams were held scoreless in the first inning, highlighted by a diving play by Briyana Wright to get the Belmont batter out at first.

Lipscomb opened the scoring in the top of the second inning as Kamrie Rich and Maci Cunconan both reached base with singles to the outfield. Wright took the first pitch she saw to deep left center to plate both Cunconan and Rich to put the Bisons on the board first.

Belmont responded by scoring a single run in the bottom of the second and seven runs on six hits in the bottom of the third to recapture the lead.

The Bisons threatened in the top of the sixth as Presley Leebrick singled to left field with two outs, but the Bruins captured the final out to clinch the non-conference win.

Macey Ogle was credited with the loss in the circle for Lipscomb, allowing four earned runs on four hits in 2.1 innings of work, while Emily Yakubowski and Brinkley Kita allowed six earned runs on eight hits in three innings of relief.

Belmont's Emma Summers picked up the win in the circle, giving up two earned runs on four hits in 5.0 innings of work, while Ellie Giles allowed only one hits in 1.0 innings of relief.

Kaylyn Belfield, Leebrick, Rich, Cunconan, and Wright all collected hits for the Bisons in the loss, while Wright tallied two RBIs.

UP NEXT
The Bisons will next travel to Kennesaw State to open a three-game ASUN series on Saturday, April 21.
