THE SHORT STORY
Queens scored a single run in the top of the third inning and in the top of the seventh inning, while holding the Bisons scoreless through seven innings, to clinch the rubber match in the three-game series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first two innings of play, Queens opened the scoring in the top of the third with one run on one hit to take the early lead.
The Bisons threatened in the bottom of the third inning as Maci Cunconan hit a double to left center to give Lipscomb a runner in scoring position, but the Royals were able to obtain the final two outs to keep their lead.
Queens tallied their second and final run in the top of the seventh inning and had bases loaded with only one out, but Emily Yakubowski was able to earn the final two outs, including posting her fourth strikeout of the contest, to keep the score within one run.
The Royals held the Bisons to only one hit in the bottom of the seventh to clinch the conference win.
Yakubowski was credited with the loss in the circle for Lipscomb, allowing no earned runs on six hits in 4.0 innings of work.
Queens' Autumn Courtney picked up her second win of the weekend, allowing only three hits in 7.0 innings of work.
Cunconan, Kamrie Rich, and Josey Polk all collected hits for the Bisons in the loss.

The Bisons will return to action on Wednesday, April 12 as they host Western Kentucky in a non-conference contest starting at 5 p.m.
