Holmes Promoted to Associate Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb Cross Country and Track & Field and Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Nick Polk announced Tuesday the expansion of Franz Holmes' role on the staff. Holmes' title has been changed from Assistant Coach for Cross Country and Track & Field/Recruiting Coordinator to the Associate Head Coach for Cross Country and Track & Field/Recruiting Coordinator.

"We are excited to announce the promotion of Franz Holmes to Associate Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach," said Coach Polk. "Franz continues to find creative ways to make our program more successful. He is a selfless contributor to the team that makes everyone around him better."

Coach Holmes joined the Cross Country/Track & Field staff prior to the 2018-19 season, primarily working with the cross country and middle-distance athletes. Since Holmes joined the coaching staff, the Bisons' cross country and track & field teams have combined for four conference championship titles, 26 post-season superlative selections, and 236 all-conference selections, including most recently the 2022 ASUN Women's Cross Country Championship title.

"Our program would not be where it is today if it was not for Coach Holmes' work over the past 5 years," Polk finished. "I am thankful to be able to continue working alongside Coach Holmes for years to come."
