Women’s Soccer Earns 3-0 Road Win at Jacksonville

Final Score: Lipscomb 3, Jacksonville 0
Location: Jacksonville, FL. (Southern Oak Stadium)
Records: Lipscomb (7-3-2, 3-1-1 ASUN), Jacksonville (2-7-2, 1-3-1 ASUN)

The Bisons earned a shutout victory over Jacksonville, scoring three goals over the Dolphins on the road.

Going into the match, Lipscomb was ranked fourth in the ASUN and Jacksonville was ranked eighth. The Dolphins have only seen one win in their first four conference games leading up to the match with Lipscomb. Jacksonville's offense was timid throughout the match, unable to break the backfield trio of Paige Archbold, Alivia Carapazza, and Lucy Ream. The experienced defensive line held the Dolphins to three goals in the match, none of which were on target.

Kiara Pralle scored the first goal in the match in the 21' minute assisted by Maddy Rhodes. Rhodes had possession of the ball on a breakaway up the right side of the field and lobbed the ball into Pralle in center field, where she launched the ball to the back of the net.

Soon after her first goal, Pralle scored her second goal of the match in the 27' minute. Pralle was able to shake a defender and find an opening to the goal from outside the 18-yard box. Pralle's 11th goal of the season helped her to maintain her status as the ASUN leading scorer while boosting her to the third leading scorer in the nation after 12 games, averaging just under a goal per contest.

The third and final goal for the Bisons was scored by sophomore Bella Carapazza in the 60' minute. Carapazza was able to dribble the ball up the left side of the field with little defensive pressure, taking her shot from outside the far left corner of the box to send it to the middle of the net, way outside the keeper's reach. Carapazza's goal is her third of the season.

Lipscomb recorded 17 shots, 9 of which were on goal, led by Pralle and B.Carapazza with five shots each. Pralle recorded three shots on goal and B.Carapazza recorded two.

The Bisons will stay in the Sunshine State to play North Florida on Oct. 6th and 12:00 PM CT.
