Cross Country Competes at the NCAA South Regional

NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb traveled to Tallahassee to run at the NCAA South Regional in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA XC Championship. The women placed 5^th overall and the men 7^th overall.

Women's 6k Race
The women started their race at 8:30 AM EST and placed 5^th of 31 teams. Lipscomb was led by Colbi Borland, who placed 8^th overall with a time of 20:14.2. Borland climbed 15 spots to finish the race after crossing the second checkpoint at 2170m in 23^rd. She was followed by Mackenzie Barnett, who finished in 20:29.9 to cross 21^st.

Sophomore Harley Kletz also finished in the top-30 for the Bisons, placing 29^th at 20:38.2. Linda Perez tailed Kletz, recording a time of 20:38.4 to place 31^st. The next Bison to finish was Kiara Smeltz in 20:54.2 to claim 44^th place.

Lipscomb's Carmen Krawczynski Gonzalez recorded a personal best in the 6k at 21:00.8 to place 49^th. The Bisons were rounded out by Ellie Brewer (21:02.4) in 52^nd of 214 runners.

Men's 10k Race
The men started their race at 9:30 AM EST and placed 7^th of 26 teams. Braedon Palmer led the Bisons to place 14^th with a time of 30:26.5 Matt Hansen finished just over 23 seconds after Palmer, running a personal best time of 30:49.9 to place 26^th..

Owen Horevay was the next Bison to cross the finish in 31:03.1 to place 35^th. Will Goodrich also finished in the top 50 with a personal best time of 31:17.2 to earn him 44^th place.

Ben Butcher (21:26.4) and Cole Kimmel (31:37.1 – personal best) finished 51^st and 63^rd respectively. The Bisons were rounded out by Levi Streeval (31:55.0) to place 75^th of 179 runners.
