PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Lipscomb Women's Golf finished out the Lady Bison Classic with a fourth-place finish after posting a 300 in its final round. The Bisons surged up the leaderboard over the final two rounds after sitting in ninth place after the first round. Harvard won the even at (+28) while Abilene Christian was runner up with (+30).
Lauren Thompson had her best round of the tournament on Sunday, shooting a 70 (-2). Her round boosted her eight spots into the top-10. Thompson finished sixth in the field and was (+6) on the event after carding a 79. 73, 70.
Mary Kate Smith led the Bisons throughout the first and second rounds and finished just outside the top-10 with an 11
th-place finish. She was steady throughout the entire event, posting a 75 in all three rounds for a (+9). Smith was third in the field with 39 pars and added four birdies.
Zi Yu Foong finished tied for 28
th, finishing (+16) after carding a 78 in the final round of play. She posted an 80 and 74 in the first and second rounds, respectively.
Katya Tibbetts put up a 79 on Sunday, shooting seven over par in the round. She bolstered an 80 and 76 in the first two rounds, respectively to finish (+19) on the weekend.
Tzunami Polito rounded out the team scoring for the Bisons and finished tied for 40
th. Polito carded her best round in the final day of play with a 77 on Sunday, jumping five spots on the leaderboard. After shooting an 80 on Friday and an 81 on Saturday, she finished the event (+22).
Caroline King,
Danica Badura and
Ally Williams competed as individuals at the Lady Bison Classic. King finished 55
th with an 83, 78, 84 (+29) while Badura was 66
th after turning in an 85, 82, 87 (+38). Williams was forced to withdraw in the first two rounds of play due to illness, but bounced back on Friday with a 77.
