Bisons Add Sweep Over UCA to Their ASUN Tally

CONWAY, Ark. – Lipscomb women's tennis traveled to Conway, Ark. on Friday morning for their final road game of the regular season. The Bisons dominated the match, taking home all seven points up for grabs for their first win over the Bears since 2007 and first sweep over the Bears in program history to increase to a 5-3 mark in ASUN play and a 13-5 mark overall.
 
The Bisons arrived ready to run in the Friday morning matchup and the Purple and Gold quickly claimed the first point of the match with two speedy doubles wins.
 
Sasha Dobranos and Rut Galindo logged the Bisons' first win of the match on court two as they combined for a 6-2 win over their Central Arkansas opponents.
 
The duo of Anja Trbeznik and Deborah Dominguez Collado then clinched the doubles point for Lipscomb with their 6-4 victory over their Bear opponents on court three.
 
Mariya Dolzhenko and Sofiia Paladi were ahead 5-4 in their matchup on court one when the doubles point was clinched, and their match was left unfinished.
 
Paladi wasted no time in singles play, however, and kept the momentum firmly in Lipscomb's grasp with a 6-0, 6-2 win on court two to kick things off in singles play.
 
Nearby on court three, Rut Galindo added to the Bisons' total with a 6-1, 6-4 win on court three to put the Bisons in clinching position with a 3-0 lead in the match.
 
Sasha Dobranos clinched the match for the Bisons with a blistering 6-2, 6-1 win at the top spot, followed shortly after by Anja Trbeznik's 6-1, 7-5 win on court five to extend the Bisons' lead to five points.
 
Mariya Dolzhenko then logged her 15th win of the season with her 7-5, 6-2 win on court four before Alina Cherniaieva secured the Bisons' sweep with a 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (15-13) win from her battle on court six.
 
The squad's win marks the Bisons' first win over Central Arkansas since 2007 and their first sweep over the Bears in program history. With Friday's victory, the Bisons extended their ASUN total to 5-3 this season with a 13-5 overall record.

The Bisons will return to the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center on Friday, April 12th to host the Bellarmine Knights in a matchup beginning at 10:00am CT.
