Track & Field Completes Busy Two-Meet Weekend

OXFORD, Miss./CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Lipscomb track & field undertook a busy weekend as they competed at the Joe Walker Invitational, hosted by Ole Miss, and the Flames Invitational, hosted by the Lee Flames. The Bisons collected 29 top-10 finishes along with a trio of first place finishes across the two meets for a phenomenal showing from the squad.
 
Anna Richardson, Cole Kimmel, and AJ Goecker all posted first place finishes for the Purple and Gold at the Joe Walker Invitational. Richardson earned hers with a 4945 in the women's heptathlon while Kimmel claimed his from a personal best 3:51.65 in the men's 1,500m and Goecker completed the trio with a personal best 9:01.78 in the men's 3,000m steeplechase.
 
The Bisons continued to dominate the podium at the two meets with results such as Ellie Brewer's second place finish in the women's 800m (2:10.99) and Mollie Longmire's third place finish in the women's 1,500m (4:34.85).
 
James Schmidt clocked two podium finishes in Oxford as he earned a second-place finish in the men's 800m with a personal best 1:50.82 and a third place finish in the men's 1,500m Invite section with a 3:44.71.
 
Lipscomb's men's relay teams also earned a pair of podium finishes as Nathan Wallace, Joe Kennedy, Dimitri Kemp, and Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng clocked a 40.91 in the men's 4x100m relay to earn second place while the quartet of Saxon Brown, Michael Polizzi, Nathan Wallace, and Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng combined for a 3:16.09 to finish third in the men's 4x400m relay.

The Bisons will hit the road once more over Thursday, Apr. 11th-Saturdat, Apr. 13th when they travel to Azuza, Calif. To compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azuza Pacific University.
