Rodriguez Named ASUN Golfer of the Week

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Men's Golf's Alejandro Rodriguez was named the ASUN Golfer of the Week as announced by the league.
Rodriguez earns the honor after winning his first Individual Championship of his collegiate career at the JT Poston Invitational, leading his squad to the team victory. Much like his squad, Rodriguez was in the lead after the first round of competition and never surrendered the lead. His first round was his best as he carded a 65 (-5) on the day, leading the field by a stroke. He stayed on track with a 66 in the second round, improving his score to par to (-9). Rodriguez was still ahead by just a stroke heading into the final day of competition, and closed things out with a 69. His final round saw him pull away from the field, finishing at (-10). He finished four strokes ahead of fellow ASUN golfer Claes Borregaard of Kennesaw State. All told, Rodriguez had 14 birdies and an eagle en route to his victory.
