Women’s Soccer Draws with Bellarmine to Cap Off ASUN Opening Weekend

Final Score: Lipscomb 0, Bellarmine 0
Location: Nashville, TN. (Lipscomb Soccer Complex)
Records: Lipscomb (5-2-2, 1-0-1 ASUN), Bellarmine (1-6-2, 0-1-1 ASUN)

The Bisons earned their second tie of the season against Bellarmine to remain undefeated at home and in ASUN play.

Lipscomb entered the match with the momentum of their first ASUN win over EKU after a 3-0 showing on the road. The Bisons and Knights battled the entire match, despite Bellarmine's 11th-place ranking in the conference entering the contest.

Despite Lipscomb's 14 shot attempts, the Bisons were unable to score in the first half. On the defensive side, the Bisons held Bellarmine to 2 shots in the first 45 minutes of play with only one being on goal. Lipscomb recorded 4 corner kicks in the first half to the Knights' none.

The second half started to pick up speed as both teams became aware of their inability to score. The Bisons recorded an astounding 19 shots in the second half to Bellarmine's 2. While Lipscomb was getting good looks, they were unable to convert any of their attempts. The most promising look of the match came from Maddy Rhodes, who was able to find an open goal but aimed just a bit too far right to hit the post.

Lipscomb's 33 total shots in the match, 10 of which were on target, was led by Kiara Pralle, who recorded 7 shots with 3 on goal. Pralle was followed closely by Faith Adams who recorded 6 shots with 2 on goal.

The Bisons are back in action at Lipscomb Soccer Complex on Sept. 26th as they take on Central Arkansas with a kickoff slated for 6:00 PM.
