Bisons Shut Out Austin Peay to Clinch Home-Field Advantage in ASUN Tournament

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb Women's Soccer continued its strong conference performance with a dominant 1–0 victory over Austin Peay on Sunday afternoon. The win marks another step forward in ASUN play as the Bisons officially clinched the right to host the first round of the 2025 ASUN Tournament in Nashville.

From the opening whistle, Lipscomb controlled the tempo, applying constant pressure in the attacking third. Bella Carapazza fired a dangerous shot in the fifth minute that was tipped wide by the Governor goalkeeper before the Bisons earned three quick corner kicks in the opening stretch. Maddy Rhodes and Skylar Cole each came close on early looks as Lipscomb dictated much of the possession.

The breakthrough came midway through the first half when Hailey Johnson slotted home a low shot into the bottom left corner to give the Bisons the lead. The opportunity arose after sustained pressure from the Lipscomb front line, and the goal shifted momentum firmly in favor of the visitors.

The second half saw more of the same dominance, with Tatum Ahlemeyer and Bella Carapazza both testing the keeper from distance. Despite several late pushes from Austin Peay, goalkeeper Kaina Cesar and the Lipscomb back line stood tall to preserve the clean sheet.

The victory keeps the Bisons rolling in ASUN play as they gear up for the final stretch of the regular season.
