WASHINGTON, D.C. — Lipscomb Women's Soccer's historic postseason run came to a close on Thursday afternoon in the nation's capital, as the Bisons fell 1–0 to top-ranked Florida State in the NCAA Second Round at Georgetown University. Lipscomb finishes the 2025 campaign as back-to-back ASUN Champions and NCAA Second Round qualifiers for the second time in program history.

From the opening whistle, the Bisons showed no fear on the big stage, matching the defending national champions with intensity, physicality, and composure. Lipscomb's back line—anchored by Rebekah Doolittle, Lucy Hurst, Lauren Bennett, and goalkeeper Kaïna Cesar—stood strong against one of the most dangerous attacking units in the country.

Florida State found the lone breakthrough in the 23rd minute, capitalizing on a corner kick that was slotted in at close range, after a scramble in the box. Outside of that single moment, the Bisons were organized and disciplined defensively, limiting the Seminoles' clean looks and refusing to break in open play.

Lipscomb pushed relentlessly for an equalizer in the second half. Bella Carapazza continued to spark the attack, Hailey Johnson battled for every ball up top, and the Bisons continued to high press, yet despite the late pressure and several promising sequences in the attacking third, the Seminoles held on to end Lipscomb's postseason run.
