NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb and Bellarmine faced off in their third and final matchup in the ASUN series at Draper Diamond.
BELLARMINE , LIPSCOMB
The Knights came out hot after going 0-2 to the Bisons yesterday, loading the bases on walks with no strikes. Lipscomb responded quickly, allowing only one run before the end of the half-inning. Lipscomb came out swinging but could not score, leaving Bellarmine with a 1-0 lead.
After the Bisons allowed their fourth walk on the day,
Ryleigh Sapp relieved
Courtney Sauer in the top of the third to throw the Knights off. Lipscomb made a huge double play to clear the bases and swing the momentum in their favor before closing the half-inning out.

Elle Smith singled to get on base in the bottom of the third. She advanced on a sac fly from
Macyn Kirby before
Alyssa Hastings sent her home on an RBI single to tie the game up before the fourth inning.
Entering the top of the fifth, the Knights relieved their pitcher, but the Bisons kept pushing.
Josey Polk and
Presley Rader recorded back-to-back singles to lead off before
Macey Ogle was walked to load the bases with no outs.
Ella Polk recorded a double to send J.Polk and Rader home.
Bellarmine relieved their pitcher once again, but it was to no avail.
Mallory Ogle was walked to load the bases again and
Elle Smith forced an error by the pitcher to make it to first and send Mac.Ogle home. In the next at-bat,
Macyn Kirby singled for an RBI on a run from E. Polk.
Alyssa Hastings earned a walk to send Mal.Ogle home, followed by a pop fly from
Brenna Sherman to earn a run from Smith. With six runs allowed, two runners on base, and just one out, the Knights found themselves between a rock and a hard place.
The Bisons didn't let off the gas, scoring twice more before the end of the matchup. Up 9-1, Lipscomb allowed no runs in the top of the fifth to end the game early.
Macyn Kirby hit 2-2 on the afternoon with one run and an RBI.
