Bisons Clinical Attack Leads to 6-0 Win Over Mercyhurst

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb Women's Soccer put together a clinical attacking display on Sunday afternoon, cruising to a 6-0 win over Mercyhurst at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

The Bisons wasted no time getting on the board, as Jaide Simone Prejean scored in the fourth minute off a cross from Hailey Johnson after a scramble in the box. Lipscomb pressed heavily throughout the first half, with near misses from Johnson, Bella Carapazza, and a Skylar Cole header off a corner that rattled the crossbar.

The second half opened with back-to-back highlight goals from Carapazza, who doubled the lead with a strike from distance before adding another only minutes later. Johnson added her own tally soon after, sliding to finish a cross from Prejean to make it 4-0.

Keely O'Brien scored her first career goal in the 70th minute, cleaning up a free kick scramble, and Annalise Cannada capped the performance with a breakaway goal in the closing stages.

Lipscomb outshot Mercyhurst 24-2 and finished with a 9-0 advantage in shots on goal. Goalkeeper Audrey Tucker was largely untested but earned the clean sheet as the Bisons posted their third shutout of the season.

With the win, Lipscomb improves to 4-2-1 on the year and extends its home unbeaten streak to three matches. The Bisons return to action on Sunday, Sept. 14, with a road test at Alabama. Kickoff in Tuscaloosa is set for 1 p.m. CT.
