Lipscomb Cross Country Posts Strong Finishes at Pre-National Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Lipscomb Men's and Women's Cross Country teams turned in strong performances at the Pre-National Invitational on Friday, October 16, highlighted by a runner-up finish for the men and a fourth-place showing for the women in the White races.
The Bisons competed in three races throughout the day, with the men's squad finishing second out of 16 teams in the 8K White Race. On the women's side, Lipscomb placed fourth out of 26 teams in the 6K White Race and 22nd out of 43 teams in the 6K Blue Race.
Men's 8K White Race
The Lipscomb men put together an impressive team performance, placing four runners inside the top 20 to secure a second-place finish.
Owen Horevay led the Bisons with a 12th-place finish, crossing the line in 24:44.9. Will Goodrich followed closely behind in 13th with a time of 24:45.9, while Brady Yingst finished 14th in 24:52.3.
Joe Ponter rounded out Lipscomb's top-20 finishers, placing 18th with a time of 24:56.9. Landon Jonas completed the team's top five, finishing 49th in 25:18.1.
The Bisons' top four runners finished within 12 seconds of one another, helping propel Lipscomb to its runner-up finish.
Women's 6K Blue Race
The Lipscomb women finished 22nd out of 43 teams in the Blue Race, led by Harley Kletz.
Kletz paced the Bisons with a 55th-place finish, clocking a time of 20:26.5. Matilda Cole followed in 75th place with a time of 20:42.2.
Jerica Glasser finished 148th in 21:13.2, while Lauren Eilers placed 158th in 21:16.5. Ava Moody rounded out Lipscomb's scoring five with a 164th-place finish in 21:18.8.
Women's 6K White Race
The Bisons added another strong team performance in the White Race, finishing fourth out of 26 teams.
Ella Johnson led Lipscomb with a 21st-place finish, crossing the line in 21:22.9. Molly Farrell followed in 29th place with a time of 21:34.3.
Leonie Saurer finished 58th in 21:54.6, while Addi Greene placed 67th with a time of 22:00.5. Brinkley Cooper completed the team's scoring five, finishing 113th in 22:22.5.
The fourth-place finish capped a successful day for the women's squad as the Bisons prepare for postseason competition.
