NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb Softball erupted for five runs in the second inning and held off a late Chattanooga rally to secure a 5–4 victory Wednesday afternoon.

Chattanooga struck first in the top of the second inning, pushing across two runs to take an early 2–0 lead.

The Bisons answered immediately in the bottom half with a five-run frame sparked by aggressive baserunning and timely hitting. Briley Burns advanced to third on a wild pitch before scoring on a throwing error by the catcher to put Lipscomb on the board.

Mallory Ogle later came around to score when Macyn Kirby reached on a fielder's choice, tying the game at 2–2. Chapel Cunningham followed with an RBI single to second base, bringing home Kyla Jobe and giving the Bisons their first lead of the afternoon.

Lipscomb continued to build momentum when Presley Rader stepped up and delivered a clutch double down the right-field line, driving in Josephine Heuberger and Chapel Cunningham to cap the five-run inning and give the Bisons a 5–2 advantage.

Chattanooga attempted to rally in the top of the fifth inning, scoring two runs to cut the deficit to 5–4. The Bisons' pitching staff and defense settled in over the final innings, however, preventing the Mocs from completing the comeback.

Rader led the Lipscomb offense with two RBIs on her second-inning double, while Cunningham and Kirby each drove in runs during the decisive inning.
