2023-24 Men's Track and Field
Biography
2023 Track and Field:
- Competed in two indoor meets and two outdoor meets this season
- Made his collegiate debut at the Commodore Challenge with a 7.06 in the 60m dash to finish 18th overall
- Ran the 100m dash and 200m dash for outdoor
- Put up a personal best 11.33 in the 100m dash at the Joe Walker Invitational to finish 33rd overall
High School:
- Prepped at Afrikaanse Hoer Seunskool under direction of coach Mongezi Radebe
- Has competed in seven national championships and earned ten medals at the national level so far in his athletic career
- Has also competed in Europe
- Logged personal bests of 10.59 in the 100m dash and 21.11 in the 200m dash
Personal:
- Son of Ettuan and Hettie van der Nest
- Has one brother, Ettiene
- Plans to major in Accounting
- Also recruited by Pennsylvania University, TCU, Miami University, and the University of Texas at San Antonio
- Favorite music group is Queen
- Lists golf as a hidden talent
